Inpatient What to Bring

Alcott Center: Inpatient Eating Disorder Treatment

The following information is important for you as you are admitted to the Inpatient Eating Disorder Treatment Program

What to Bring
1 Medium suitcase
Journal/School Textbooks/Homework
Appropriate reading book
Small stress ball
Appropriate casual clothing - skirts or shorts must be at knee length (leggings, tank tops, scarves, and boots are not permitted)
Sweatshirts (without hoods and/or pockets)
Shampoo, conditioner, facewash, soap, toothpaste, and deodorant (must be in plastic containers)
Washer & Dryer available on the unit for your convenience

For Safety Reasons, Patients Are NOT Allowed to Bring the Following Items
Cell phones - IPODS - Blackberry or any other electronic devices
Curling irons, flat irons, hair dryer (or any items with cords)
Sharp objects including: razors, electric razors, nail clippers and tweezers
Mirrors and/or glass products
Hair spray, or products that contain alcohol or are in aerosol containers
Makeup
Shoelaces, high heeled shoes, belts
Matches, lighters, cigarettes
Clothing with drawstrings
Food, gum, beverages
Jewelry
Magazines
Knitting needles, yarn, crochet hooks
Blankets, pillows, towels, sheets
Stuffed animals
Musical instruments
Items the treatment team feels will interrupt treatment, or are a safety risk will be removed

Medications
Please bring a list of your current medications with you, including over the counter medications.

Valuable items are brought at the owners' risk. The program is not responsible for stolen or misplaced items. Please do not bring items not included on this list, as they will be sent home at admission. No storage is available on the unit.
