Director of Nursing Job Summary at Walden Behavioral Care

Under the direction of the Chief Operating Officer, and in accordance with the standards and policies of the hospital, the Director of Nursing provides 24 hour accountability for the professional practice, administrative and clinical operations of the assigned departments. The Director of Nursing acts as the leadership liaison with executive management staff. The Director of Nursing promotes and supports the hospital mission, vision and strategic plan across the care areas. This candidate strives to achieve a care delivery system that fosters excellence in nursing practice, care, teamwork, positive customer/client relations, safe and high quality-driven practices. The Director of Nursing is responsible for the financial management, strategic goal planning, human resource management, departmental and interpersonal communication. The Director of Nursing in collaboration with the Medical Director and Clinical Director, works to achieve the provision of quality patient care and service across the continuum.

Director of Nursing Education, Experience and Knowledge Requirements at Walden Behavioral Care

Candidates applying for the position of Director of Nursing should possess a bachelors or masters degree from an accredited nursing program, with five (5) years prior relevant experience and a minimum 2 years in a leadership position.

Director of Nursing candidates must possess knowledge of general and psychiatric nursing processes, therapeutic relationships and processes, age specific growth and development, limit setting, behavior and crisis management and CPR training. Strong leadership qualities.
