Mental Health Technician Job Summary at Walden Behavioral Care

The Mental Health Technician provides direct patient care under the supervision of a registered nurse. Primary responsibilities for the Mental Health Technician include the provision of a safe and therapeutic milieu including crisis intervention and assisting patients with activities of daily living, behavior management and completion of assignments.

Mental Health Technician Education, Experience and Knowledge Requirements at Walden Behavioral Care

Education requirements for the Mental Health Technician include a Bachelor's Degree in Psychology or related field or high school diploma with one year experience working with a psychiatric patient population preferred.

Candidates for the Mental Health Technician position should possess knowledge of psychiatric group process, therapeutic relationships processes, age specific growth and development, limit setting and behavior management, crisis management with aggressive behaviors, and CPR training.
