About Walden Behavioral Care, LLC

Walden Behavioral Care specializes in the treatment of patients with eating disorders, psychiatric disorders, addictions and co-occurring disorders.

Founded in August 2003, Walden Behavioral Care is the second healthcare partnership of Drs. Stuart Koman and David Fassler, two innovative clinicians who previously founded Choate Health Systems. Anticipating the demands of a changing healthcare environment, Choate Health was among the first hospital systems to base patient treatment on the "continuum of care" approach, which adapts treatment to match the changing needs of patients as they progress toward recovery. It was also among the first to use a family centered approach to treatment.

Walden Behavioral Care's "whole health" approach expands on those principles and represents a major step forward in the development of patient-centered care.

The "whole health" approach takes virtually every aspect of the patient's life into account - medical and psychiatric issues, medication, the environment in which the patient is treated, the patient's diet and outside support are just some of the factors considered when developing a customized treatment plan for each patient.
