Gaining Control over Eating Habits

The mission of the Adult Intensive Outpatient Program for Binge and Night Eating is to support adults, seeking freedom from binge or night eating, in making significant behavioral, nutritional and psychological changes to reduce symptoms and improve overall quality of life.


  • Female and male, 18 years of age or older
  • Medically stable


  • Establish a regular and sustainable eating pattern
  • Stop dieting and feeling deprived
  • Decrease binge eating and any other eating disorder behaviors
  • Recognize unhelpful thinking patterns and learn skills to change them
  • Develop an array of alternative coping and self-soothing skills
  • Decrease the importance of weight and shape as a determinate of self-worth
  • Integrate physical activity into daily routine and improve mood and self-esteem
  • Develop and maintain a regular and nutritionally balanced eating style
  • Build a healthier lifestyle

Treatment includes:

  • Nutrition management, education and counseling
  • Group therapy
  • Supervision of one therapeutic meal per evening
  • Coordination of care with an outpatient team if applicable

Treatment Team Includes:

  • Registered dietician
  • Licensed clinicians

Groups Include:

  • Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT)
  • Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT)
  • Nutrition Therapy
  • Stress management
  • Goal setting
  • Weekend meal planning

Program Hours:

  • Patients typically attend for 6 weeks, 3 evenings a week
  • Program runs from 5:30 – 8:30 p.m.
